Jalna MP Kale among 33 stranded in Gulf
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Jalna Congress MP Dr Kalyan Kale is among 33 people from Marathwada stranded in the Gulf countries after international flight services were suspended following the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. These are the people, apart from several hundreds from the eight districts of Marathwada residing there on job visas. According to district authorities, nine people are stuck in Dubai alone, while others are in Abu Dhabi and neighbouring Gulf nations. All are reported to be safe and in touch with their families. Dr Kale, along with six of his friends, had travelled to Dubai on Feb 27 via Delhi. He had gone on a leisure trip with a classmate and was preparing to return when the airlines announced suspension of services in view of the war-like situation in the region. His brother Jagannath Kale said the MP and his companions are safe and are in regular contact with the family members.Among other prominent persons stranded in Dubai are police commissioner Pravin Pawar's daughter and son-in-law. The couple, who got married a few months ago, had recently moved to Dubai, where Pawar's son-in-law runs a real estate and development business.
