Aurangabad: A group of activists registered their protest against the rampant putting up of birthday banners at all prime public locations in Beed on Monday. As a sign of protest, they reached out to the district collector’s office and celebrated their canine’s birthday.
The activists put out a table outside the district collector’s office and even cut a cake.

The agitators unanimously alleged that large banners with sharp colours often divert the attention of commuters, eventually resulting into petty accidents on a regular basis.
The activists, while terming their protest as Gandhigiri, said that they hope their protest not only attracts the administration’s attention but also compels them to take appropriate action against those defacing public properties at will.
The group of activists under the banner of Bhrashtachar Nirmulan Samiti made a written representation to the Beed district administration demanding strict action against illegal banners defacing the public properties. The memorandum also cited that these illegal banners were directly in contrast to the High Court orders.
