TIRUPATI: A youngster who went to watch a movie with his girlfriend, was stabbed inside a movie theatre in Tirupati on Saturday.The victim who sustained injuries in the attack was identified as Lokesh, a student of a private university, located in the outskirts of Tirupati near Rangampeta.According to Tirupati east CI D Maheswara Reddy, Lokesh went to watch a movie with his girlfriend and was suddenly attacked by a youngster identified as Karthik.When there was commotion all around after the victim was injured in the attack, the attacker along with Lokesh's girlfriend absconded away from the theatre.Tirupati east police who reached the theatre after learning about the incident, shifted the victim to the SVRR govt general hospital in the city for treatment.Police suspect that the girl who accompanied Lokesh to the theatre was part of the plan hatched by the assaulter.According to the preliminary police enquiry, while the victim Lokesh was a native of Giddalur in Prakasam district, the girl and the assaulter were natives of Sullurpeta in Tirupati district.
