V Harshavardhan Raju takes charge as new Kadapa SP

TIRUPATI: V Harshavardhan Raju took charge as the new superintendent of police of Kadapa district on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters after assuming charge, Harshavardhan Raju said his focus shall be on effectively tackling the red sanders smuggling menace, ganja smuggling, cricket betting and other illegal activities in the district.
Stating that migration of people from Kadapa district to the gulf countries has always been high, the new SP noted that the Kadapa police will lay special focus on such people who may get stranded there and face hardships to return back to their home district.
"We will work out a systematic mechanism to reach out to such people in distress who get stranded abroad, especially in the gulf countries", Harshavardhan Raju underlined.
The new SP also made it categorical that the district police wing will crack the whip against miscreants involved in acts of land grabbing and will display zero tolerance when it comes to dealing with crime against women.
