Andhra Pradesh: Three of the same family commit suicide unable to bear son-in-law's harassment

TIRUPATI: Unable to bear the harassment meted out by their son-in-law, three members belonging to the same family including a 55-year-old father and two daughters committed suicide in Kadapa district on Saturday.
According to local police, Babu Reddy (55), a resident of YMR colony in Proddatur town got his elder daughter Swetha Reddy married to a software engineer R Suresh Kumar Reddy about an year ago.

After differences cropped up between the newly wed couple, Swetha Reddy came back to her parents residence at Proddatur recently and had stayed back.
However, as the harassment by Suresh Kumar Reddy continued, Swetha Reddy complained to her parents that her life had become miserable ever since she married Suresh.
Unable to bear the torment his daughter was undergoing, Babu Reddy committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of his residence on Friday night.
Moments before his suicide, he shot a selfie video in which he held his son-in-law Suresh Reddy responsible for his death and appealed to officials to take punish him for his offences.
Babu Reddy's two daughters Swetha Reddy (26) and Sai Reddy (21) who went into a shock after their father's death, jumped off before a moving train near Tippaluru-Rayunipeta in Yerraguntla mandal on Saturday morning.
Police shifted the bodies of the deceased to the local government hospital for postmortem and have registered a case and are further investigating.
