The police arrested seven persons from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours and recovered from their possession weapons and ammunition.

ALLAHABAD: The police arrested seven persons from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours and recovered from their possession weapons and ammunition.
Three persons identified as Rakesh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and Giridhar Gopal, were arrested by the police in Kotwali and Kydganj circles. The police recovered two crude bombs and some sharp-edged weapons from their possession.
Meanwhile, the Shahganj police arrested a person, identified as Sonu Gupta, a resident of Kachchi Sadak, and seized a 0.315 bore countrymade pistol and some live cartridges from his possession.

Besides, the Phulpur police arrested two persons, identified as Bachau Lal and Sukhlal, both residents of Kalethuwa and seized 10 litres of hooch from their possession. It was also reported that Handia police nabbed one Shobhnath, a resident of Baraut, and recovered five litres hooch from his possession.
No headway in loot case: The Kaushiyara police are yet to make a headway into the Sadwa loot case wherein unidentified motorcycle borne four miscreants had looted Rs 45,000 and a mobile from a trader after injuring him. The incident took place when the victim was on his way to Allahabad after collecting dues.
Meanwhile, Phulpur police are still clueless about the whereabouts of criminals who had looted Rs 50,000 from a retired college principal. The loot, according to police, was executed when the retired principal was returning to his house after withdrawing money from a bank.
