Portraying the rich cultural heritage of the country, the sixth day of "Chalo Man Ganga Yamuna Teer" was held at the Magh Mela on Tuesday.

ALLAHABAD: Portraying the rich cultural heritage of the country through folk songs and dances, the sixth day of the cultural programme "Chalo Man Ganga Yamuna Teer" was held at the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) camp at Magh Mela on Tuesday. For the audience drawn from different corners of the country it was a memorable musical feast along with the ritual dip on the banks of Sangam.
The evening commenced with a devotional song by Panna Lal Yadav.

This was followed by the rendition of Ganga stuti by local singer Uma Dixit in her inimitable style. The verses "Ganga Matu Bhawani Tumko Lakhon Pranam" threw light over the significance of the holy river. This was followed by a Bhojpuri song drawing wide applause from the audience.
The Bhojpuri songs in various styles including Ganga geet, patriotic songs, Dadri and shringar geet presented by Rakesh Upadhyaya and group from Gorakhpur mesmerised the audience.
The Ganga avataran or the incarnation of Ganga in traditional Manipuri style presented by Devlina Paul from Lucknow was also widely appreciated. Another notable presentation of the evening included the Beda Raas presented by Dayaram Nakum from Gujarat which comprised exercises related to physical balancing of the body through rigorous training.
