ALLAHABAD: Out of 3,642 shiksha mitras in the district, 2,548 were deployed as assistant teachers after adjustment before the Allahabad High Court quashed state government’s order for the same.
As per the data, at least 1,296 were drawing salary as assistant teachers for the past six months. The basic education department was in the process of completing documents of the rest to release the salary.
“Currently, shiksha mitras are drawing monthly remuneration of Rs 3,500. After adjustment, they were supposed to get salary under along with allowances as per the norms. It means a lot for any youth who is teaching for the past 10 years as shiksha mitra,” said shiksha mitra Kirti Kumar, a post graduate in Hindi literature.
