AMA annual meet from October 3

ALLAHABAD: Allahabad Medical Association (AMA), a branch of Indian Medical Association, will organise its 12th annual CME "AMACON-2009" on October 3-4.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday, AMA president Dr Manisha Dwivedi said the purpose of the annual conference is to update technical skills of its members, so as to enable them to serve the public better.

Every year AMA chooses a new theme for the CME.
This year the theme is "Endocrinology from bench to bedside". Prof Sarita Bajaj, an eminent endocrinologist of the city is the organising secretary of the conference.
As part of the programme, a workshop will be held on October 3. This will include demonstration of latest techniques in the field of "Insulin therapy" by Dr (Lt Col) M K Garg from R & R Centre of Indian Army while Dr Bansi Saboo from Ahmedabad will deal with other topics including self monitoring of blood glucose and diabetic foot.
About 200 participants are expected to take part in the workshop. On October 4 there will be CME on various topics of endocrinology in which eminent endocrinologists from all over India will deliver lectures on various topics. The speakers will include Dr APS Suri, Dr Lt Col M K Garg, Dr Bansi Saboo, Dr S M Sadikot, Dr Jameel Ahmad, Dr Usha Sriram, Dr Indra Pal Kochar, Dr Anil Bhansali etc.
A lecture will be delivered by Dr S M Sadikot on "Pearls and perils of tight glycaemic control in ICCU".
