Ahmedabad: Sale deed registrations dipped on Tuesday in anticipation of the government announcing “corrections” in jantri rates, revenue officials in Ahmedabad said on Tuesday. Last week on Monday, a total of 5,829 sales documents were registered in Gujarat, while this week on Tuesday a total of 5,540 sale deed documents were registered.
“On Saturday last week, the state government had doubled the jantri rates across the state but since Monday, there was a buzz in official circles that that the rates may come down in certain areas.
This may have caused a dip in the sale deed registration on Tuesday,” said a senior revenue department official. In Ahmedabad city, 953 sale deed documents were registered on Monday last week, while on Tuesday the number of registrations came down to 850.
