"We have organised this programme especially for the youth. We want them to spread the message of peace. We organised the Umbrella of Peace and Poster for Peace for school and college students", Shabnam Hashmi of Anhad said.
Around 70 children participated in the ''umbrella for peace'' competition and 60 college students participated in the ''posters for peace competition.
The children painted umbrellas and expressed their vision of communal harmony with messages highlighting coexistence.
The programme included an exhibition of paintings made by Kalla, a rickshaw puller of Andhra Pradesh.
The paintings depict gory images of the communal violence in Gujarat. "He had made the paintings after he saw media reports of violence here. Shubha Mudgal bought the paintings and gave them to ANHAD for display", said Hashmi.
Many children, parents, youth amongst others gathered for the programmes that began with a street play ''Manaas Manaas'' performed by the Darpana Academy.
