Ahmedabad: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel said on Thursday that the state is committed to achieving success in adoption of 5G and added that it will add gunvatta (quality) to Gujarat’s 5G model.
He was speaking at the inaugural session of Gunvatta Sankalp Gujarat, an initiative of the Quality Council of India (QCI), aimed at critical quality interventions across priority sectors in the state.
The initiative will focus on redefining quality standards in education and skilling, healthcare, e-commerce, large industries and MSMEs, tourism, culture, sports and social development.
The CM said quality was largely an ignored term in India until a few years ago, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country was moving towards quality.
“Be it Make in India, Digital India or Aatmanirbhar Bharat, every movement has seen significant progress. We are focused on quality, and I am confident that we will also achieve 100% success in making it the cornerstone of development,” he said.
He further said that Gujarat has expedited the work of building Viksit Gujarat under the 5G model, which stands for Garvi Gujarat, Gunvantu Gujarat, Green Gujarat, Global Gujarat and Gatishil Gujarat.
“Let us add one more G, which stands for Gunvatta (quality), in this 5G Gujarat model,” he added.
QCI chairman Jaxay Shah said, “Gujarat has business, resilience, innovation and quality in its DNA. Aligned with our PM’s vision of enhancing quality of life for every Indian, this Sankalp aims to embed the principles of quality in every facet of life, livelihood and industry in the state. Together, we will set new benchmarks in quality and excellence, making Gujarat the first Viksit Rajya of Viksit Bharat.”
Shekhar Patel, president (elect), Credai National, said, “The real estate sector is going to play a crucial role in the country's economic growth. It has a share of 8% in India’s GDP and considering the allied industries, indirectly contributes 47% to the country’s GDP. Gujarat’s real estate market size is around Rs 3.20 lakh crore. We need to construct 45 lakh houses by 2030 to meet the annual requirement of 7.50 lakh new houses while having a supply of 4.68 lakh houses. Real estate has adopted high quality standards.”
State industries secretary S J Haider, advisor to Gujarat CM S S Rathore, Assocham Gujarat Council chair Chintan Thaker, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) president Ajay Patel and FICCI Gujarat State Council Chairman Rajiv Gandhi attended the inaugural session.
