GANDHINAGAR: British High Commissioner to Republic of India Dominic Asquith paid courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister

Gandhinagar. After taking charge as the high commissioner Asquith visited Gujarat for the first time.
Rupani briefed him about the role of strengthening relationship between Gujarat-UK and said that as many as 6 lakh Gujaratis are living in U.K.
Rupani gave him the details about the air service between Ahmedabad – London by
Air India which has begun from August 15, 2016. The fruitful discussion was held between duos regarding U.K. – Britain will take part in forthcoming Vibrant Summit-2017 as a partner country.
During the meeting, the duos had discussed about the opportunities for cooperation of various sectors between Gujarat and U.K. and Rupani said that investment can be made in the developing areas in Gujarat such as Dholera SIR, GIFT city, PCPIR, Smart City and Coastal Economic Zones. Gujarat has emerged as the Manufacturing Hub of India. Gujarat is leading in Automobile, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Textile, Ceramic and Diamond Processing sectors. Recently the delegation from Gujarat has visited London, Manchester, and Birmingham as a part of Vibrant Summit – 2017. A huge response was received through as many as 40 B2B meetings and 4 road shows, Rupani added.
