Boy, 13, collapses, dies while playing cricket, family suspects heart attack
Mainpuri: A 13-year-old boy, Virat Chauhan, collapsed and died while playing cricket near his house at Sahara village in Mainpuri's Bichwa area on Sunday morning. His kin suspect that he suffered a heart attack on the field.According to an eyewitness, Chauhan's bat suddenly slipped from his grip while he was batting and he fell on to the ground, becoming unconscious within seconds. Moments before taking the field for his turn to bat, Chauhan, a student of Class 6, was seen enjoying the match with his friends, another villager said.Chauhan was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Chief medical superintendent of Mainpuri district hospital, Dr Dharmendra Singh, said, "The boy's family did not want to do a postmortem, and took the body from the emergency ward."The boy's uncle, Rajesh Singh said, "He complained of pain in his left arm and neck while playing. He possibly died of a heart attack." Village head, Sughar Singh, said, "Chauhan was fond of cricket. On Sundays, he along with his friends used to play cricket in the village field. Our entire village is shocked by the tragic incident."
