3 killed, 2 hurt as car falls intopit after hitting a tree in Etah
Etah: Three people, all youngsters aged between 19 and 23, were killed and two others injured after their car travelling from Gurgaon to Ganeshpura in Mainpuri district suddenly veered off, flipped over a few times, then hit a tree before falling into a roadside pit in UP's Etah district around 7:30am on Saturday. Preliminary investigation indicated the car's driver may have dozed off and lost control of the vehicle.Police said that all five car occupants were trapped inside the mangled vehicle, and had to be brought out by local villagers. Three of them were found dead, while two others were taken to district hospital in a critical condition. They were later referred to Etah Medical College. The incident took place near Bawli canal on Sakit road in Etah's Malawan area.According to police, Shivam Yadav (21), Sunil Yadav (23) and Manki (19), all from Mainpuri, died in the accident. Shivam and Sunil were relatives, and were returning home for a family wedding. Rahul (28) and Khushboo (22) suffered serious injuries."Shivam and Sunil were working as office boys at a private firm in Gurgaon. We are all in deep shock," said Rinku Yadav, a family member. Etah SSP, Shyam Narayan Singh, said that "further legal proceedings are currently underway."
