Uno Minda launches high-speed, EV wall charger: Price & key details explained
Uno Minda has expanded its EV-focused product lineup with the launch of a new home charging unit designed specifically for electric cars. The Uno Minda Car EV Wall Charger, a 7.4kW wall-mounted system, is compatible with all vehicles that use a Type 2 connector, making it suitable for a wide range of models currently on sale in India.
The company says the growing shift toward electric mobility has created a strong demand for reliable home charging setups, and the new charger has been engineered keeping the Indian environment and usage patterns in mind. the unit delivers a 7.4kW single-phase fast-charging output at 230V AC, supported by strong thermal management for consistent performance.
Uno Minda has equipped the charger with a weatherproof IP65-rated enclosure and an IK10 impact-resistant body, allowing it to withstand heat, dust and rain. A Type 2 integrated socket comes standard, while a smart LED interface shows real-time charging updates and alerts. The charger also supports multiple connectivity options, including cellular networks, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, enabling remote monitoring and smarter integration with connected systems.
On the safety front, the wall charger features protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating and short circuits, along with automatic cut-off and restart functions to maintain uninterrupted charging. Uno Minda says this combination of durability, digital features and safety mechanisms makes the device suitable for everyday home use, similar to charging a smartphone.
The Uno Minda Car EV Wall Charger will be available via major offline retailers and online platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart and Unomindakart. It is priced at Rs 50,000, with a special introductory price of Rs 32,514, and comes with a one-year warranty.
