Zayn Malik officially left the band One Direction in 2015 and the band made this announcement on their Facebook account on March 25, 2015. After that other band members decided to continue as a four-piece. Zayn said that he felt that this was the right time to leave the band and the reason of leaving was that he wanted to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. This was the biggest and most shocking news for One Direction fans in 2015. One Direction members Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis also respected his decision.

Former One Direction star posted an Instagram photo of himself with bright green hair on June 6 with Perrie Edwards. In this image, the couple can be seen cuddling up to one another. The caption of the photo read, "#GreenHairDontCare." Edwards seems a bit embarrassed by the new colour choice, but not enough to post the same image on her own Instagram page. Perrie Edwards is a member of pop group, Little Mix. Zayn continued his colourful hair experimentation with both white and purple shades.
