Biden arrives in Israel as war with Hamas rages on

US president Joe Biden arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday to show support to its Middle Eastern ally Israel in its war against Hamas.

The US president was received by Israel's PM Netanyahu at the Airport amidst significantly strengthened security measures as war spirals into a larger conflict.

Hundreds of armed police and troops were stationed around the Tel Aviv hotel where Netanyahu and Biden will meet amidst high security concerns.

The visit comes in the wake of an attack on a Gaza hospital that claimed the lives of hundreds present in and near the premises.

While Biden met Netanyahu, his planned summit with multiple Arab leaders including Jordan's president and PLA leader was cancelled after attacks on Gaza hospital.

Post landing in Tel Aviv, Biden said Hamas was worse than Islamic State for its killings of Israeli civilians.

Biden blamed Gaza hospital bombings on the "other team", while Israel said the explosion was caused by a "malfunctioning rocket" fired by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an armed group allied with Hamas.

The war between Israel-Hamas which began on October 7 entered the 12th day and has resulted in the death of over 4,000 people on both sides.
