Trump mocked French President Emmanuel Macron at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, targeting the sunglasses Macron wore a day earlier for health reasons and accusing him of posturing over pharmaceutical price negotiations.

“I watched him yesterday with those beautiful sunglasses — what the hell happened? But I watched him sort of be tough,” Trump said, referring to Macron’s reluctance to raise drug prices to align more closely with US rates.

“I said, ‘Emmanuel you’ve been taking advantage of the United States for 30 years with prescription drugs. You really should do it, and you will do it,’” he added.

The head of US bank JPMorgan, Jamie Dimon, said on Wednesday that both NATO and Europe needed to be stronger, noting that it was in the United States’ best interests.

"I think we need a stronger NATO. I think it's right for us to complain that NATO didn't do enough," Dimon said at Davos, in response to a question about whether he considered the current moment dangerous in global geopolitics.
