Katie Leung, Regé-Jean Page to Freddie Stroma: Every 'Harry Potter' actor who starred in 'Bridgerton'

At first glance, the magical chaos of Hogwarts and the polished ballrooms of Bridgerton seem worlds apart. But if you look a little closer, you’ll spot some familiar faces slipping between both. ‘Bridgerton’, the wildly popular Regency-era series, which is full of gossip, romance, and scandal, has given us a new cast of beloved characters. ‘Harry Potter’, of course, enchanted millions for years with its spells and showdowns. Now, as of 2026, fans are buzzing about the actors who’ve crossed over, trading magic wands for masquerade masks and the Great Hall for the drawing rooms of high society London.

It’s pretty astounding to see these actors pop up in both universes: one day they’re casting charms or dodging curses, next they’re dancing the night away or scheming over tea. Here’s a closer look at five actors who’ve managed this double life, the roles they played, and how their careers have grown since their Hogwarts days.

2/6

Katie Leung: From Cho Chang to Lady Araminta Gun

Katie Leung’s journey is probably the most surprising on this list. The viewers first met her as Cho Chang, the Ravenclaw student who caught Harry’s eye and brought an emotional depth to ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ and beyond. Fast-forward to 2026, and she’s in ‘Bridgerton Season 4’ as Lady Araminta Gun, a sharp and ambitious stepmother determined to see her daughters married off well — by hook or crook.

3/6

Regé-Jean Page: From a wedding guest to the Duke of Hastings

Long before Regé-Jean Page smoldered his way into everyone’s hearts as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, he had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it part in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1’. He was just a nameless wedding guest at Bill and Fleur’s big day. It wasn’t much, but a few years later, he took center stage in Bridgerton and pretty much became the face of the show overnight. Talk about a glow-up!

4/6

Freddie Stroma: From Cormac McLaggen to Prince Friedrich

Freddie Stroma’s another one who’s managed to fit right into both worlds. In the Harry Potter movies, he played Cormac McLaggen, that cocky Gryffindor Quidditch player who tried (and failed) to impress Hermione Granger, the brightest witch of her age. Then he showed up in ‘Bridgerton’ as Prince Friedrich, the dashing royal who tried to win Daphne’s heart before she fell for the Duke. Stroma brought just the right mix of charm and tension, making his character memorable in both series.

5/6

Michelle Fairley: From Mrs. Granger to Princess Augusta

Michelle Fairley’s face has turned up in all sorts of big franchises. In ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1’, she played Hermione’s caring mum, Mrs. Granger. Years later, she landed in the Bridgerton universe, this time as Princess Augusta in ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’.

6/6

Guy Henry: From Pius Thicknesse to Doctor Monro

Guy Henry knows how to play a formidable character. In the 'Harry Potter' films, he chilled audiences as Pius Thicknesse, the cunning, sinister, and diplomatic Minister for Magic under Voldemort’s thumb. In Queen Charlotte, he’s Doctor John Monro, the physician tending to King George III. Different setting, same knack for adding depth and drama, whether he’s in the shadows of the Ministry of Magic or the candlelit halls of Regency London.
