Harry Potter, Goosebumps and others: The best fantasy movies you can binge watch on OTT

They say finding true love is easier than finding a great fantasy movie! One of the most popular genres, fantasy movies come along dime a dozen, but only few of them get (almost) everything right and become a fan favourite. A far cry from (sometimes) soppy romances, or gory murder mysteries, fantasy movies transport you to a make-believe world, where there is adrenaline, drama, mystery and a bit of romance, all rolled into one. Take your pick from the best fantasy movies we have curated for you to watch on OTT...

2/6

Jurassic Park

One of the biggest hits in Hollywood ever, Jurassic Park is a thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. The drama takes us to a remote island, where dinosaurs are brought back to life for a theme park. Sam Neill plays Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern is Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum is Dr. Ian Malcolm, who are invited to the island by Dr. John Hammond, who created the park. After initial skepticism, the scientists are settling in the park, when the dinosaurs break out of their enclosures and even find a way to reproduce, thus creating havoc on the island!

3/6

Bruce Almighty

The feel good, yet life changing movie is about Bruce Nolan, played by Jim Carrey. Bruce works as a TV newsman and one day, he gets the power of God, played by Morgan Freeman. With this power, Bruce tries to fix his life. He gets his dream job and tries to impress his girlfriend, Grace, played by Jennifer Aniston. Bruce thinks being God will be easy, but he soon realizes it is not. He gets overwhelmed by all the prayers people send to God everyday and realises that even God can sometimes be powerless! And when Bruce loses Grace's trust, even his God powers can't help him!

4/6

Hellboy

Hellboy is about a demon named Hellboy who fights paranormal creatures. He was raised by humans and works for an organization called the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. Ron Perlman plays Hellboy, and he's joined by Abe Sapien, a creature with special abilities, and Liz Sherman, who can control fire. Hellboy is in love with Liz, but their relationship gets complicated when a new agent, John Myers, joins their team. Things get worse when an evil guy named Grigori Rasputin returns and wants to use Hellboy to destroy the world.

5/6

Goosebumps

Goosebumps is based on R.L. Stine's scary books. In this movie, Jack Black plays R.L. Stine. The story follows Zach, a high school student, who likes Stine's daughter, Hannah. Zach and his friend, Champ, discover Stine's secret and accidentally release the monsters from Stine's books into the real world. One of the monsters, Slappy the Dummy, is especially evil and wants to get revenge. Now, Zach and his friends must find a way to stop the monsters before they cause chaos everywhere.

Harry Potter franchise

How can any fantasy series be complete without mentioning Harry Potter? Whether you are a Potter head or not, you will invariably be drawn to the world of Hogwarts where the miracle wizard Harry spends most of his growing up years. Befriending the brilliant Hermione Granger and the awkward, but heart of gold Ronald Weasley, the trio embark on an epic adventure, even as the evil Lord Voldemort is hell bent on killing Harry. If you still haven't seen the series, it is time to make a start. We can bet you will be hooked! Based on the novels by J. K. Rowling, the movies star Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in lead roles.
