Pune IT Firm Abruptly Closes Operations, Over 700 Employees And Interns Left Jobless
More than 700 employees and interns of Thynk Tech India OPC Pvt Ltd have been left jobless after the company abruptly ceased operations at its Pune office. Following complaints from staff, police arrested CEO and Head of Training and Development Harshal Thakare on charges including cheating and criminal breach of trust. Employees alleged that salaries and stipends were withheld for months and that some were asked to deposit ₹15,000 for company laptops that were never provided. The Forum for IT Employees (FITE) said several interns approached them for help after repeated salary payment assurances allegedly went unfulfilled. Authorities are now examining the company's financial records and operations to determine the extent of the alleged fraud.
