General elections 2019: Congress-RJD announce Bihar seat-sharing deal

The 'mahagathbandhan' in Bihar has finally declared their seat-sharing formula for the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD will get the lion's share in the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The Rashtriya Janata Dal will field its candidates in 20 seats while Congress will field candidates in 9 seats. Sharad Yadav, former JD(U) president, will contest on an RJD symbol and will merge his Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) with RJD after Lok Sabha polls. Other members of the 'mahagathbandhan' Lok Samta Party (RLSP) and Vikasheel Insan Party (VIP) will field their candidates in five and three seats respectively.
