Delhi’s Gas Shift: IGL Asks Residents to Move from LPG to PNG Amid Supply Push
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has urged Delhi residents to shift from LPG cylinders to piped natural gas (PNG), calling it a safer and more efficient option.Managing Director Kamal Kishore Chatiwal said India is currently utilising only 3–4% of its domestic gas production for PNG supply, indicating significant room for expansion. With connections already tripling since pre-war levels, IGL is now targeting 30,000 new connections daily, signalling a major transition in the capital’s cooking fuel ecosystem.
