CBSE Launches Digital Revaluation System For Class 12 Exams, Govt Accepts Discrepancies
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday said the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun a major digital transformation in the Class 12 revaluation process, introducing scanned answer sheet access and technology-driven assessment reforms aimed at improving transparency and accountability. Speaking after a meeting with CBSE officials in Delhi, Pradhan said nearly 17 lakh students appeared for the examinations, generating around 98 lakh answer copies and almost 40 crore scanned pages in total. For the first time, CBSE has implemented a fully digital evaluation system allowing students to access scanned copies of their answer sheets, verify marks, and raise objections directly through the portal. According to the minister, nearly 4 lakh students have already accessed their answer sheets covering around 11 lakh copies. The process is being supported by premier institutions including IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras, while PSU banks such as SBI, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank have integrated payment gateways for smoother operations. Dharmendra Pradhan acknowledged that some discrepancies had emerged during the process and said the government accepts responsibility for corrective action. He assured that no student grievance would remain unresolved and that accountability would be fixed at every level. The announcement comes amid growing public discussion over board exam transparency, digital evaluation methods, and the need for faster and more student-friendly rechecking systems in India’s education sector.
