Blessed by baby boy, thousands of devotees lined up at a temple devoted to Lord Hanuman in Amritsar city to express their gratitude. The devotees, whose wishes were granted, brought their children dressed as 'langurs' (long-tailed monkeys) as a mark of gratitude to Lord Hanuman. The temple has a unique idol of Lord Hanuman in a sitting posture. Otherwise, he is normally depicted standing with a mountain in his hand. The couples adhere to a strict routine during the nine sacred days. During these nine days, the young boys, who dress up like monkeys, remain barefoot, sleep on floor and come to temple for worship twice a day.
