Ukraine has claimed a major drone strike on Russian forces in Crimea, destroying two Mi-8 helicopters valued at up to $30 million each at Hvardiiske Air Base. Infrared footage released by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence shows precision drone hits on the parked helicopters. The strike also damaged a Russian military tugboat, BUK-2190, in Sevastopol Bay. Ukraine’s military said the operation significantly reduced the combat abilities of Russia’s elite units. Separately, Ukrainian special forces targeted the radar of a Russian S-300 air defence system at Saky Airfield, a move seen as a blow to Moscow’s long-range defence capacity. Watch.
