Endangered snow leopards arrive at New Zealand zoo
Two female snow leopards, Asha and Manju, have become the latest arrivals at a New Zealand zoo. The animals, both three years old, were born through an international scientific breeding programme at Melbourne Zoo in Australia. They now live in an enclosure at Wellington Zo o with a temperature similar to the climate of their usual habitat. The big cats can jump six times their body length. That's up to 30 feet. There're no more than seven thousand snow leopards left in the wild, due to habitat loss, poaching, and climate change.
