Amid legal probes and the poor performance of Republican candidates backed by him in the mid-term elections, former US president Donald Trump filed his candidacy papers to launch his 2024 presidential campaign. After his papers were filed with the US election authority, Trump addressed a gathering of his supporters. Trump is seeking his party's nomination even as he faces trouble on several fronts, including a criminal investigation into the removal of classified documents from the White House as well as a congressional subpoena related to his role on the January 6, 2021.
