This stray dog is no ordinary dog. He has been walking with a group of pilgrims since October 31. Since then, the dog has walked 480 kms starting from Tirupati. The dog has sustained foot injuries and has been treated by local vets. Undeterred, the dog continues the journey towards Sabarimala. He now has a leather collar around his neck. This is remarkably similar with Naveen and Malu’s story. Malu, a stray dog, walked nearly 700 kms with Naveen to reach Sabarimala in 2016. Mahabharat also has a story revolving around a dog. It is said that a dog walked with the Pandavas during their final journey towards heaven. One by one, all Pandavas except Yudhishthira fall before completing the journey. On completion, Lord Indra asks Yudhishthira to leave the dog and enter heaven. Yudhishthira refuses to do so. It is then that Indra reveals that the dog is none other than Dharma – the code of conduct – itself. And then Yudhishthira boarded Indra’s chariot and ascended heaven.
