UP Polls: Uttar Pradesh records over 58% voter turnout in phase 1

As per the Election Commission, the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections recorded over a 58 per cent voter turnout. Polling was held for 58 Assembly seats in 11 districts of the state. Polling passed off peacefully without any major incident. However, at some polling booths glitches in EVS were reported. Elections for 403 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly is being held in 7 phases.
