Heavy rains lashed Telangana, throwing life out of gear. Severe flooding and waterlogging occurred in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. The flow of water was so strong in some areas that people were swept away. Floodgates of the Manjira and Himayat Sagar reservoirs were opened to release overflow. The government also declared a holiday for the next 2 days for all non-essential services, advising people to stay home.
