Exclusive: Rang Maza Vegla actor Meghan Jadhav on making Marathi TV debut: Worked in Hindi TV for 15 years and now it's the right time to strengthen my base in Marathi

Hindi TV actor Meghan Jadhav recently made his Marathi TV debut with the show Rang Maza Vegla. He is playing the role of Aaryan in the show. Meghan is a popular face of Hindi television and has been in the industry for the past 15-16 years. He is now happy to be a part of a Marathi TV show and shared his excitement with ETimes TV. How Meghan decided to enter in Marathi

When asked how he decided to make his debut, Meghan said, "It was a combined decision by my family and me. I have been working in Hindi since childhood but never worked in Marathi television. I decided to do the show after thinking about all the angles and perspectives. I was finalised for the character of Aaryan in October and November but the storyline took a leap in February instead of November. I waited for five to six months to come up on TV."

How is your experience in Hindi TV so far?

I think Hindi television has become more uncertain nowadays. The Hindi medium has now applied policies like if a show does not work for two or three months, they decide to directly end the show. There is no second option. There are hardly any shows now on Hindi TV which have longevity. Actually, people know me from Hindi television and that's what happens when you work for a longer period. Hindi television gives you identity because it airs pan India and around the world. But I am happy now that I got a chance to work in Marathi show.

What difference did you feel between Marathi and Hindi Television?

The work style in Marathi is very unique. You get time to work on your character in Hindi but in Marathi, you have less time to prepare. Another difference is payscale. Marathi has comparatively lesser payment than Hindi but now regional TV is also trying to grow financially and professionally. Regional television has had a huge boom over the past few years.

Your elder brother Mandar Jadhav is currently playing the lead role of Jaydeep in Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta. How did he support you?

Actually, he was one of the reasons I decided to enter Rang Majha Vegla. Mandar dada entered Marathi TV a few years back and now his show Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta is touching the skies of success. His success inspired me and forced me to join the show. I got so connected and close to him during the lockdown and consider him as my one of biggest support. My father is also a great inspiration for us.

6/6

Perfect time to enter in Marathi

I will try my best to utilize my Hindi TV experience in Marathi. I have been in the industry for the last 15 years and I feel this is the perfect time to strengthen my base in Marathi now.
