Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a special emergency fund on March 28 (Saturday) to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and celebrities from the Marathi industry have stepped forward to make their contributions. From donations to distributing food to the needy, celebrities are using their social media platforms to garner support and motivate fans to make some useful contributions towards Covid-19 relief. ​Sai Tamhankar

Sai Tamhankar recently donated Rs. 1.5 lakhs to the CMO relief fund. The actress announced it on her social media and also requested everyone to donate to the needful. (PC -Instagram)

​Sonalee Kulkarni

Yuva Dancing Queen judge Sonalee Kulkarni also contributed to the CMO relief fund but didn’t disclose the amount. She wrote on Instagram, “I thank God and my parents that I have a home to live in during these difficult times, a few bucks and few people with me. As much as there is something to be done for those who are dependent on their day to day earnings, I have deposited as much money as possible in the CM relief fund. I have not disclosed the money because we should not have more discussion about the amount. Less or more I am a share in this fight. ​Subodh Bhave

Subodh appealed to the Marathi fraternity to provide financial help to the daily wage workers of the industry who don't have any income right now. He said, “I hope everyone is safe and staying indoors. I know we are going through a very tough time but this too will pass away. This outbreak of Coronavirus has also brought a major financial crisis in the life of our crew members of theatre and film, who are paid daily. Marathi TV actor Prashant Damle, who is the producer of several Marathi plays like ‘Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta’ and ‘Gela Madhav Kunikade’ stepped forward to financially help his crew members. Prashant paid Rs 10000/- to every crew member. (PC - Instagram)
