From talking about the importance of sex education to sharing her probable list for Bigg Boss Malayalam 4: Major revelations made by Arya

Malayalam TV host and former Bigg Boss contestant Arya is one of the popular names in the industry. From her iconic character in Badai Bungalow to her brilliant performance in Bigg Boss Malayalam, Arya charmed her fans with her versatility. Recently, in an exclusive LIVE interaction with ETimes TV, the actress spoke at length about the importance of sex education to spilling the beans about her reel chemistry about Ramesh Pisharody, she was full of charm. Excerpts...

'COVID-19 comes with so much extra baggage'

COVID-19 was pretty much ok. It just felt like a viral fever which got ok after two days of complete rest. But, COVID comes with so much extra baggage, and post-COVID recovery is the issue. I am still recovering from nausea, sleeplessness, gastric issues, throat pain, and so on.

'I miss Badai Bungalow'

It feels awesome, even after years, when you go out, people call you 'Arya Badai'. Undoubtedly, it is one of the biggest milestones in my career. I never thought that I could handle comedy. It is tough to play comedy on-screen. They say if you handle comedy, you can handle anything that comes in your way. I find it true. We can't replace actors like Urvashi, Kalpana who did marvelous work. I feel privileged to have done a small part in the same genre they all created magic in.

'We had a cold war in the beginning'

Myself and Ramesh Pisharody were literally like Tom and Jerry in the beginning. We had a cold war. I was a beginner then, so doing comedy on screen was the toughest thing for me. Back then, he used to give me suggestions, but in a very serious tone. I felt bad and I thought 'Why can't he just smile and do this?'. Maybe this cold war between us reflected on-screen and that built the vibe. However, over the years, our bond evolved and now he is one of the greatest friends and mentors for me. He is one of those people who will always be there for me. I feel blessed to have such people in the initial days of my career.

'It is disheartening that the 75-day journey didn't have a fruitful ending'

I'm a big fan of Bigg Boss Hindi right from its first season. So, I've taken part in BB Malayalam out of my love for the show. No doubt, I had a great time inside the house, it is not the way it is seen from outside. However, it is still disheartening that we didn't have a good end for the season. Despite staying away from everything we love for 75 days, we didn't get a fruitful climax, it's sad. This will stay with us for a long time. Malayali audiences lag behind in accepting the concept of the show. Even after three seasons, we haven't perceived the show well. It needs an open and broad mind to accept the show and we are just reaching there.

'When you bully someone online, it just reflects your upbringing'

People who bully you online, hardly know you. They don't know your journey, your struggles, nothing. They simply abuse you for no reason. However, I believe when someone attacks you or abuses you online, it just reflects their upbringing, not yours. What is being questioned is that person's character or how they are brought up. If they are not bothered about it, we are least bothered then.

'My biggest fear is losing my loved ones'

My biggest fear is losing my loved ones, nothing else is that important to me. Be it a forever loss or someone moving away from me, it is one of the painful things in life for me. I can't tolerate it at all. It pulls me down. That's my biggest fear.

'Parents should give sex education to kids, there is no shame in it'

"There is no shame in teaching your kids about sex education. The world we live in is not a beautiful, glorious place anymore. Abuse is everywhere. Even a newborn baby is not safe here. I think schools should take the initiative to teach kids about this. We do have a moral science period for things like this, but I don't know why it is not being addressed. If schools don't take a step, parents should do it. The recent incident of a 9-year-old boy talking about 'bad touch' in a courtroom was an eye-opener for all parents. They should teach their kids, both girls and boys about abuse, good touch, bad touch. Let's start it from home," opined the proud mother of a 10-year-old girl.

'I wish to watch Rajith Kumar as a player'

This might sound weird, but I wish to see Rajith Kumar sir again in Bigg Boss Malayalam 4. I saw him as a co-contestant when I was inside. The game is completely different inside. No matter what, he was a fantabulous player, an apt one for the show. So, I would like to watch him as a viewer and see whether I can predict his next strategy.
