A video of singer Job Kurian and wife Athira singing their iconic 'Kannodu Kannayidam' during a stage show is making rounds on social media. When romantics hail it to be couple goals, music lovers call it the best moment any singer can ask for. But, did you know it is not the first time that the duo is singing together in a public platform? Yes, they were co-contestants in the popular music reality show 'Super Star'.


In one of the throwback videos shared by the channel that aired the show, Job and Athira can be seen singing together on the stage. The duo renders the evergreen romantic song 'Vaikkathashtami' and their chemistry truly steals the show. In the video, popular pianist Stephen Devassy can be seen backing for them. The judging panel includes musicians Deepak Dev, Alphonse, and the late violinist Balabhaskar, and actor Manoj K. Jayan.

Soon after the video is out, Super Star fans are going nostalgic.

For the unversed, recently during one of the stage shows, Job invited his wife, Athira, to join him for a duet. Introduing her as the trophy he had won from the show, the duo beautifully rendered Job's much-loved song 'Kannodu Kannayidam' and the video is still making rounds on social media.

Both Job and Athira were contestants in Super Star, one of the first ever popular music reality shows in Malayalam TV. Though Athira got evicted much early in the competition, Job emerged as the first runner up. Currently, Job is one of the much loved singers in Malayalam music industry. Along with his playback singing, he also enjoys a huge fan following for his originals too.
