TV couples who have been together for several years but haven't tied the knot yet; say, 'We are as good as married'

There are several popular faces of television who have been in love for a long time but they haven't taken the plunge yet. For some, it's the pandemic that foiled their plans and there are those who don't feel that marriage is necessary to validate their love. Here's taking a look at couples who have been together for several years but haven't gotten married until now. (All photos: Instagam)

Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal

Hina and Rocky fell in love with each other while she was doing Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata as the main lead. Back then, Rocky was the supervising producer of the daily soap. The couple has been head over heels in love with each other for almost a decade now and are going steady. They often travel and celebrate special occasions together.

Abigail Pande and Sanam Johar

Abigail and Sanam took their time to fall in love after meeting at a common friend's house. However, the couple has been inseparable for years now. They did plan to get married in 2020 but the pandemic foiled their plans. They are currently living-in and Abigail told BT in 2021, "Everyone around us wants to know when we plan to tie the knot. Sanam and I had plans to get married last year but the pandemic ruined it. We want to get married at a time when it is comfortable for everyone to come and bless us. I feel that if your loved ones and family can’t participate in your wedding, what’s the point? Also, Sanam and I are already living-in and we are enjoying our life together. That’s what matters the most."

Sreejita De and Michael BP

Bigg Boss 16 fame actress Sreejite De and fiance Michael BP have been together for several years. But the two have still not taken the plunge. The couple has been planning their wedding for a long time now and it's now expected to take place in July. Sreejita told ETimes TV, "Wedding preparations are still going on. I have not finalised anything, only the location where the wedding will take place that has been booked and date is finalised. Rest the clothes, the decor, the invites, the guests list and how many people will be part of the wedding, nothing is done. The German wedding will happen in Hamburg and the Bengali wedding will be in Goa."

Ashlesha Savant and Sandeep Biswana

It's been almost two decades that the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi couple has been together. However, there are no talks of marriage yet. The couple is happy living in. Earlier this year Ashlesha's birthday note justified why the two don't feel the need to be married. She wrote, "Someone asked me the other day, 'You guys are not married, what does that mean?' I didn’t know how to explain this love I feel for you @baswanasandeep. In my entire life I have never met anyone like you. People love someone for what they do, but you are the only one I know who is loved for who you are. You are such a magnificent, magical being. When I see the world crumbling under material and superficial existence and I come home and see you meditating, laughing and manifesting through your being it’s the most Divine thing. You have held my gaze, heart, soul non stop every second of my beating heart. My Gladiator you are the Schindler to my list of a love filled life.Sometimes just looking at your gorgeous face and the devils advocate smile I know You are the Godfather of this mystic garden that’s overflowing with love and only love ❤️. The grandeur of this life is only in the being. My love Where do I begin. To tell the story of how great a love can be. The sweet love story that is older than the sea. The simple truth about the love you bring to me. Where do I start?"

Delnaaz Irani and Percy Karkaria

It's been over a decade that Delnaaz and her partner Percy Karkaria have been together. Both of them had failed relationships before, hence, they were cautious in the beginning. However, the two, who were expected to tie the knot on Delnaaz' 50th birthday last year, now think that marriage is just a stamp on the paper. Talking to BT about the same, Delnaaz said, "I think marriage is overrated. I feel shy and nervous whenever people ask me about it. I’ve gone through many ups and downs. I would often joke with my friends that I may marry and surprise them on my 50th birthday but I guess I shouldn’t mince words anymore. As a couple, Percy and I are happy the way we are and we don’t need to sign a document to seal our relationship. We have been fortunate to get each other’s love. We may have found love again but that doesn’t mean we will marry twice. Percy and my family are fine with this decision of mine."

Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse

Rahul and Mugdha have been together for almost a decade and even participated in the reality show, Power Couple, together. Rahul found love in Mugdha after the death of his first wife, Rina and even though the two may not be married, they are happy with how things are in their life. Talking about it, Rahul told ETimes, "We are both happy with the way things are, busy in the pursuit of our work yet having the space and luxury of planning travel together. I have a grown up son from my late wife Rina. His name is Sidhant. Mugdha has a young nephew and niece and she takes keen interest in their development. So we are both more than happy the way things are."
