Namita Thapar was born in Pune to parents Satish and Bhavana Mehta on March 21, 1977. She completed her schooling and graduation in the city itself. She pursued MBA from Duke university's Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina. Namita is also is a certified Chartered Accountant from ICAI.

Namita worked at Guidant Corporation, US for six years before joining her father’s business, Emcure Pharmaceuticals. She had joined the company as the CFO, Chief Financial Officer and is now the Executive Director of the company.

As the Executive Director of Emcure, Namita is leading the business of the company in India with around 4000 medical representatives, across the nation. She also serves as the Trustee on the TiE Mumbai Board of Trustees and is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization too. Along with this, Namita is a board member on the regional advisory board of Fuqua School of Business India. As a successful businesses woman and entrepreneur, Namita has also turned up as a speaker at prestigious forums such as Harvard Business School, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM A), the ET Women’s Conference, FICCI, among others.

Namita Thapar is married to renowned businessman Vikas Thapar, who is currently the Senior Vise President of her company. He is known in the corporate sector for providing his exceptional expertise in providing financial support and value-added business to many big companies.

Like Namita, Vikas was also born and brought up in the city of Pune. He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of California, San Diego, where he had completed his BS in Management Science. After completing his BS, Vikas pursued an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business, California. Vikas joined Namita Thapar in the same company in 2006, before that, he worked with multinational brands.

Namita and Vikas have kept their personal lives private. Hence, not many details are known about their wedding. However, what is known is that the couple who is married for years now is parents to two boys. They have named their sons Jai and Vir. While Vikas is more of a private person, Namita keeps sharing their family pictures on social media.
