Priyal Bhatt is bringing the divine character of Bhudevi to life in Prem Sagar and Shiv Sagar’s latest mythological venture, Kaamdhenu Gaumata. The show revolves around the life of the holy wish-fulfilling cow, a story rarely explored on television. For Priyal, stepping into this role has been both an emotional and spiritually enriching experience.
Sharing her joy on being chosen for the part, she said, “I had already played this character in Kakbhushundi Ramayan as well, and it was the best experience of my career so far. So when I was offered Bhudevi again, my heart was full of joy.”
Describing her preparation process, the actress revealed, “My character, Bhudevi, is full of both pain and faith. To prepare, I read several mythological texts and books related to Bhudevi to understand her journey, emotions, and significance.”
Priyal also recalled the most challenging sequence she had to shoot. “My character was bathed with the blood of both devas and asuras, and I had to endure that sticky texture for 12–14 hours. I couldn’t even stand in front of a fan because the fake blood would dry and become uncomfortable,” she explained.
For her, embodying a mythological figure meant more than just acting—it was about transformation. “Whenever I got dressed as my character, I would somehow transform into Devi. The aura of the tiara and costume felt divine. Also, since all the characters fit perfectly into their roles, it was easy to step into the mythological era without losing authenticity,” she said.
Highlighting the importance of such narratives, Priyal added, “I believe many Hindu mythological tales are still unknown or unexplored. These are not just stories — they are our history, and we must strive to know them.”
With Kaamdhenu Gaumata, Priyal Bhatt hopes to inspire audiences to reconnect with India’s cultural and spiritual heritage through timeless mythological tales.
