Poonam Pandey makes shocking revelations in Lock Upp: Beaten up by estranged husband, suffering brain hemorrhage to not being allowed to touch her phone

Poonam Pandey has entered Kangana Ranaut's show Lock Upp and since then she has made many revelations from her real life. While speaking to host Kangana Ranaut, Poonam claimed that she is not controversial at all in her real life and just a ‘simple girl’ who has made mistakes. She also opined that given a chance she would press the reset button to undo things she did in the past. Here are some shocking revelations she made post stepping inside the show.

Estranged husband Sam Bombay would beat her

In one of the recently aired episodes, Karanvir Bohra quizzed Poonam if she really loved her now estranged husband Sam. The Nasha actress then went on to reveal her ordeal, how he was controlling, his drinking habits and also would beat her. She said, “Nobody wants something like this to happen to them. Who likes to get beaten up. I had like four floors of house, private garden, private terrace and I had everything. I had a big fuc**ing house. If I am in one room, I am not allowed to be in that room, he would ask me why are you in that room. He would force me to be with him in the room he wanted. When I used to tell him that I wanted some time with myself and fresh air and wanted to go on the terrace, I wasn’t allowed.”

Having a brain hemorrhage

She said, “I was not allowed to take my phone anywhere, and was not allowed to touch my phone in my own house. If I love my dog and sleep with them, he would say I love my dogs more than him. What kind of statement is that? Why should I get fuc** beaten up for loving my dogs. Is that a reason to get a brain hemorrhage? Because I have one.”

4/8

Tolerating domestic abuse

“I’ve been trying for long, this has been happening for good four years. He didn’t just beat once, my brain injury (she points on the left side of her head) did not heal because he kept beating me on the same spot again and again. I would apply makeup, gloss and laugh in front of everyone, to hide it. I would act very cool in front of everyone,” she said in the episode adding, “If a person starts drinking from morning 10 am, till night and in the night there would be nobody around to save us. The staff would get scared, they would leave.”

5/8

Was young and naive

In her exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Poonam had talked about facing domestic abuse and creating controversies to get noticed. She said, "I accept that I’ve done controversies as I wasn’t getting a job. I was also young and naïve so whoever told me to do this or that to benefit my career, I just blindly followed."

‘I don’t make adult films, I make erotica’

On the premiere night, Poonam addressed the accusations of making and creating adult films. She said, “I don’t make adult films, I make erotica. If people think that I am making adult films, I am happy to accept the fact that what I am doing is my way of doing things. I am not denying any accusations you are putting on me. India is the land of Kamasutra. Whatever videos or pics I have taken, I haven’t broken any law. I respect my Government. Erotica is something very close to Kamasutra. It is very beautiful.”

7/8

On her ‘Nirvastra’ statement

I was 18 year-old. People advised me to create controversies and it will make me a hit, get films. I was a teenager and I did it. I think I am a bit smart but mujhe akal ayi dheere se. I would 100% press reset button in my life. I have made many mistakes, which I shouldn’t have. I did them in desperation. I am misunderstood in life. There are many things, which I didn’t do or wouldn’t do myself. I did them because people told me to do so.

8/8

Making wrong decisions

"Much later in life I realised that those decisions were wrong and if you want to succeed in life just work hard and you will get more work. I’ve realised that this 15 minute of fame is not at all important in life. Henceforth, I just want to work aur agar Kisi ko kuch dikhane hai karke toh apne kaam ke zariye karo."
