From Shoaib Ibrahim calling Bigg Boss no more a personality show to Divyanka Tripathi admitting it is not her cup of tea: Celebs who have refused to do the show

Many popular celebrities have openly shared their reasons for turning down Bigg Boss, each citing unique concerns about joining the high-profile reality show. From Shoaib Ibrahim criticizing the show’s shift away from showcasing genuine personalities to Divyanka Tripathi expressing that it's simply “not her cup of tea,” these stars have revealed why they’re not interested in taking part in the drama and intensity of the Bigg Boss house. Shoaib Ibrahim

In a recent AMA session, Shoaib explained, “I might be wrong, but personally, I feel Bigg Boss is no longer a personality show; it has become more content-driven. Earlier, it used to be a show focused on personality. Now, the more content you provide, the more visibility you get, and that’s how one progresses in the game. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not convinced yet to join. Maybe someday, if I feel differently, I might consider it, but for now, this is my reason. It feels like some contestants are heavily favored or humiliated. There’s always something going on, but it no longer showcases personalities. It’s more content-based. Maybe I’m wrong. Divyanka Tripathi

Divyanka Tripathi recently opened up about why she would likely never participate in Bigg Boss. She admitted, “I’m not sure I could ever do Bigg Boss. The show intimidates me a bit. Being an introvert, the idea of being away from home and my husband Vivek feels overwhelming. I find it challenging to be separated from my family for extended periods. It’s a tough experience, and honestly, it’s just not for me.” (Photo -Instagram)

Surbhi Chandna

Surbhi Chandna had exclusively shared with Times Of India TV, "I love watching Bigg Boss, and people know I’m a huge fan. Whenever I’m not working on a show, I follow it religiously, picking favorites, choosing sides, and discussing it a lot with friends. I won’t deny that I get invited to join Bigg Boss every year; the channel has become like family, and they try to convince me each time. I don’t immediately say no because I appreciate that they see potential in me. I don’t want to let them down, and I feel that when I’m fully ready to reveal myself as Surbhi Chandna, as I am, I’ll participate. It’s not that I have a hidden side I want to keep secret, but there are aspects of me I’d like people to appreciate. When I feel ready to show those sides, I’ll join in, though I don’t think that time is right now." (Photo - Instagram)

Karan Singh Grover

Actor Karan Singh Grover, known for his appearances on reality shows like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3, and Zara Nachke Dikha, has turned down offers to join Bigg Boss. Karan shared that while he’s participated in stunt-based shows and even hosting, Bigg Boss isn’t for him. Reports suggest that the show’s makers have approached him for the past three to four seasons, but he’s declined, saying he’s a private person who wouldn’t enjoy being constantly observed. Angad Hasija

Bidaai star Angad Hasija had previously shared that he has no plans to participate in Bigg Boss. He explained, “I was offered Bigg Boss this year, but I turned it down because I feel the show isn’t for me. Sometimes, you just know something isn’t the right fit. I don’t think I could handle it due to my nature.” Angad added that although he has received similar offers in the past and there has been a lot of buzz about him joining, he wants to clarify that he won’t be entering the Bigg Boss house. Neha Dhupia

Roadies gang leader Neha Dhupia has been clear about her lack of interest in joining Bigg Boss. In an interview with Times of India, Neha shared, “I enjoy watching Bigg Boss and am a huge fan of Salman Khan—he’s the reason I tune in. But I would never enter the house myself.
