From Shailesh Lodha to Disha Vakani; Here's what these Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actors are up to after quitting the show

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has seen several of its best talents leave the show in recent years. From Dayaben aka Disha Vakani to the main Taarak aka Shailesh Lodha, these actors are currently busy carving out a niche for themselves outside of the sitcom. Here's what's been keeping them occupied...

Disha Vakani aka Dayaben left the show over 5 years ago for maternity break and hasn't returned to the show. While the actress is busy with her babies, she was recently spotted at a garba event with her family. Her two kids and husband participated in the aarti with Disha.

Shailesh Lodha recently won a legal battle against the producer Asit Modi for his pending dues. In a recent conversation with a portal, Shailesh had revealed the reason why he quit the show, "It was a matter of self-respect. That’s why I decided to quit the show. There was a show on the same channel Good Night India and it was not my show. The series was about stand up comedians and artists and the makers invited me as a special guest on one episode. I was invited by the poet Shailesh Lodha, I went there and why wouldn’t I? I have been working as a poet since 1980 and I’m what I’m today only because of Hindi Kavita. Mere jaane par koi dikkat bhi nahi thi, koi rok tok honi bhi nahi chahiye. I was contractually not bound by anyone to not go on a show of this nature. I can go as Shailesh Lodha anywhere and in fact this was on the same platform/channel." Shailesh is doing 'Waah Bhai Waah' after quitting Taarak.

Gurucharan Singh Sodhi, who left in 2020 owing to salary concerns, hasn't been on TV since. The actor uses social media and has his own YouTube channel to connect with fans. The actor recently met his Taarak Mehta co-star Sonalika Joshi aka Madhavi Bhide at a mall.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, the first one to openly accuse Asit Modi and the production house, hasn't announced any new projects regarding TV, but the actress is active on social media and writes inspirational words for her fans. Jennifer had recently shot a music video, and apart from that she has been quite close to her co-star Priya Ahuja Rajda. Jennifer has been doing many brand endorsements and collaborations on her social media handle.

On the show, Priya Ahuja Rajda played Rita reporter. She admitted in a recent interview with ETimes TV that artists on the show had experienced mental harassment, but her issue was more about the length of her role after she married. She said that no one misbehaved with her on set, but that Asit Modi informed her, "Arre tujhe kaam karne ki kya zarurat hai Malav is working na." Priya is now involved in social media endorsements and has essentially become a member of the rapidly growing influencer community. Priya was seen playing the role of Satya's sister in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein before the leap.

Monika Bhadoriya, who played Bawri, left a couple of years ago due to behavioural and monetary issues. The actress recently spoke with ETimes TV accusing the makers of the ill-treatment on the sets. She has been busy travelling and doing glam photoshoots. The actress recently shared how difficult it has been for her to be a part of the showbiz.

Taarak Mehta's Anjali, played by Neha Mehta, exited the show in 2020. Her fans were completely taken aback. The actress stated personal reasons but later confessed that the producers had not paid her dues. She has not appeared on television in a few years, however, she has appeared in a Gujarati film. Neha was recently seen in a play where she talked about her second innings. She is patiently awaiting a decent offer. Meanwhile, she keeps herself occupied by visiting a variety of activities across the country.

Raj Anadkat has gone from music videos to brand endorsements and become a social media influencer. After leaving Taarak Mehta, the actor has done rather well for himself. He also enjoys connecting with his fans and posts vlogs for them on his YouTube channel.
