Bigg Boss 18 has been making headlines for its entertaining episodes. Rajat Dalal, one of the popular contestants of the season has a criminal record, about which he has been quite open. The YouTuber and reality show star has even been behind the bars. There are several popular contestants who have been arrested in the past. Here’s a list:-

According to PTI, Rajat faced multiple legal troubles this year. In September, he was charged with reckless driving after allegedly hitting a motorcyclist. Back in July, he had a public altercation with Ajaz Khan and voiced his support for Elvish Yadav in a controversial video. In June, News18 reported that Rajat was arrested in Ahmedabad for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a teenager over a video-related dispute. Earlier in March, Haryana police intervened after Rajat threatened Rajveer Singh Shisodia in a video, intensifying their ongoing feud.

Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was arrested on January 1 following a performance in Gujarat. The arrest came after a complaint by Eklavya Singh Gaud, son of a BJP MP, alleging that Munawar had made indecent remarks about Hindu deities during a comedy show in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Faruqui, along with four others, was charged under IPC Section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread disease), and other related provisions. The group was also accused of violating COVID-19 protocols by organizing the show. After more than a month in custody, Munawar was granted bail on February 5.

Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav has been arrested by Noida Police in connection with a snake venom case. The controversy dates back to 2023, when Yadav was accused of procuring snake venom for use at rave parties. An FIR was registered in Sector 39, Noida, under the Wildlife Protection Act. On March 18, reports surfaced revealing that Elvish had admitted to the allegations of arranging snake venom for such parties. The case has now escalated, with charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) being added. Section 29 of the NDPS Act, which pertains to drug-related conspiracies, including the buying and selling of narcotics, has also been invoked. Sources have disclosed that during questioning, Elvish claimed the snakes seen in his video were arranged by Bollywood singer Fazilpuria, adding another layer of intrigue to the case.

Bigg Boss 7 contestant Ajaz Khan, arrested in a drug-related case in 2021, was granted bail on June 19, 2023, after spending 26 months behind bars. The actor held a press conference to share his experience of surviving over two years in jail. Ajaz was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at the Mumbai airport in connection with the case.

Bigg Boss 2 contestant and Saraswatichandra actress Monica Bedi garnered significant attention due to her relationship with underworld figure Abu Salem. The two were arrested by Lisbon police in 2002 for entering Portugal using forged documents. Monica and Salem served a jail term in Portugal before being extradited to India. In 2006, Monica was convicted by an Indian court for passport forgery and obtaining a passport under a false identity. However, in November 2010, the Supreme Court of India upheld her conviction but reduced her sentence to the time she had already served in prison.

Sampat Pal, the leader of the vigilante women’s group Gulabi Gang, rose to prominence for her fearless fight against domestic violence and social injustice. As a contestant in Bigg Boss 6, she shared her journey of standing up for women’s rights. Known for taking bold actions, including confronting public officials and abusive men, Sampat faced jail twice but remained steadfast in her mission. Her Gulabi Gang has inspired movements worldwide, even leading to the establishment of a chapter in France. Her story also inspired the Bollywood film Gulaab Gang, starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla.
