Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan to Ziddi Dil Maane na... 7 TV shows that ended recently or are in the process of wrapping up

In recent times, we have seen a number of TV shows wrapping up within a few months of their launch. Last year one thought it was the pandemic, but the trend seems to continue. Low ratings is one of the main reasons why shows wrap up; channels would rather bring in a new daily soap in a particular time slot than wait for an existing show to pick up. Here's a look at some of the recent ones that wrapped up or are in the process of doing so.

The latest daily soap to join the bandwagon is Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan. It will end on August 5. The show, which features Reem Shaikh, Zain Imam and Akshit Sukhija in lead roles, went on air in January this year. There is buzz that it may be moved to the channel's OTT platform.

The show, which launched on March 7 this year, wrapped up in just three months. The last episode aired on June 24. It starred Swati Rajput and Ankit Siwach in lead roles. The entire star cast of the show was upset to know that their show was winding up. Swati Rajput said in an interview with us, "I don’t know the reason behind our show wrapping up because the feedback I got was good. That's why I was hoping that the show would continue for a longer time."

The show stars Manav Gohil, Chandni Sharma and Abhishek Rawat in lead roles. Kaamnaa has gone through many twists and turns to boost ratings. After a run of seven months, the show is now set to wrap up in 10 days. Manav recently said, "It is sad that the show is ending, but I've been in the industry for a long time and have been through many shows going off air. Having said that, I developed a great bond with the cast, director and the entire unit. I made some new friends on the set and I'm sad to say goodbye to everyone."

This show was a reboot version of the earlier popular series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Tera Mera Saath Rahe starred Giaa Manek, Mohammad Nazim and Rupal Patel. It went on air last year on August 16 and ended a month ago. The team was expecting it to last longer. In a chat with us, Mohammad Nazim had said, "It's sad that the show is ending, I expected it to run for atleast two- three years."

The show starred Shaleen Malhotra, Kaveri Priyam, Kunal Karan Kapoor, Diljot Kaur Chhabra, Aditya Deshmukh and Simple Kaul. It had a unique storyline, which was based on the Special Action Force. The story went through many changes and newer actors were brought in too. But after a 10-month run, it finally went off air last month.

After a successful first season, Thapki Pyar Ki 2 went on air last year in October. The show, starring Jigyasa Singh and Aakash Ahuja, unfortunately did not click with the audience this time around. After a six month-run, it went off air in April this year.

Launched in July last year, the last episode of the family drama was telecast on April 30. It starred Nishant Malkani and Nyra Banerjee in lead roles. It's never a good feeling when the show goes off air, and this team too was quite sad when their show ended.
