Dipika Kakar's emotional reunion with her father post her stage 2 liver cancer surgery; says 'We both broke down and started crying'

Television actress Dipika Kakar has been battling with health issues since the beginning of the year. First she had to quit Celebrity Masterchef due to her severe shoulder pain and later in May 2025, she was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. However, after undergoing a surgery for the same, the actress is in the healing process. During the entire phase, Dipika's family has been like her backbone and pillar of strength. The actress recently uploaded a new vlog on her YouTube channel, where she revealed that many fans have been asking about her father and whether he visited her after her surgery.Dipika shared glimpses of her father's visit to her house and their emotional reunion. She revealed that her father visited her in the hospital and also once she back home. However, as she was still recovering from the surgery and was not in the best of her health, she could not shoot any vlog. Dipika's father came to visit her and brought apples for her son Ruhaan. He told that she had lost a lot of weight and also met Shoaib's father.Dipika and her father sat down together to have a heart-to-heart talk and spend some quality time together. She said, "Toh aaj bhi Papa aaye hain, papa actually pehle bhi milne aaye the aur hospital mein bhi aaye the par main uss recovery phase mein thi. So I think meri surgery ke baad aaj pehla din hai jab humne sukoon se aise time spend kiya hai, aur baat cheet ki hai. Hospital mein bhi jab papa aaye the tab bhi unhone kaha tha ke jab tak main usse dekh na loon mujhe tasalli nahi milegi."(Papa came to visit again today. Actually, he had come earlier as well, even to the hospital, but I was still in the recovery phase at that time. So, I think today is the first day since my surgery that we’ve been able to spend some peaceful time together and have a proper conversation. Even when he visited me in the hospital, he said, ‘I won’t feel at ease until I see her myself.)Dipika's father shared, "It's completely natural — the bond between parents and their children is truly special. When a baby cries, a mother can easily understand whether the child is hungry or if their diaper needs changing, just by the way they cry."Dipika opened up about how her period of illness was a tough and testing time for every member of the family. Her father praised her strength, saying she’s a brave soul and will overcome it all.In response, Dipika expressed her gratitude, saying that it was her father and family's support and the blessings of her loved ones that played a big role in her recovery.Dipika further in the video showed visuals of her father's adorable meeting with Shoaib where he was seen hugging and lifting him in his arms. He even praised Shoaib for constantly being with Dipika during testing times. He said, "I really admire you." Dipika in her video shared that whenever her father meets Shoaib, he lifts him and hugs him tightly and she finds it adorable.She further revealed, "Papa is very emotional as a person so whenever I meet him, I get very emotional. The father and daughter bond with him, makes me emotional. In fact, aaj bhi jab papa and I were chatting and Shoaib came out to meet him, there was a point when we both broke down and started crying.
