Dipika Kakar on Ruhaan's premature birth: Shoaib had been my strength when Ruhaan was in NICU in bandages and oxygen support

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on February 22. The actress took to her Vlog to share glimpses of the recent performance in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 for the family week. She also shared an emotional moment when she saw Ruhaan in bandages and C-Pap. Here's what she has to say:

We shared Ruhaan's journey through the act in the family week. The moment was extremely special for Shoaib and me. I was performing with Shoaib 6-7 years after Nach Baliye. I have come on the stage for the first time after vlogging, so the experience was extremely exciting for me. We performed wearing costumes.

Dipika then took Ruhaan to the stage so that he could get familiar with the stage and not get cranky on the final day. Dipika says, "Hopefully he will enjoy himself on the stage, we are now heading to shop something for Ruhaan, it isn't like he doesn't have any outfit but it is a special day and I want it to be just perfect."

As Dipika gets her makeup and hair done, she shares the stress, "The only stress is that Ruhaan should be in a good mood when we go for the performance." Dipika then held Ruhaan on her lap and played with him while her makeup was getting done.

We have shared how this act was so special, for me it was a major reason that I was performing after so many years. One thing I realised was that Ruhaan was delivered in the morning at 6:30-32 am. Due to a c-section, I was under bedrest and when I slept, the doctor had called Shoaib to the NICU and when he came back he was frowning, I asked him what happened and he quickly changed the mood and kept admiring Ruhaan.

The next day when I went to the NICU and I saw Ruhaan with bandages on his eyes, C-Pap as the first few days he was under oxygen support. As parents, it is a very heartbreaking sight. Ruhaan was a little uncomfortable and Shoaib kept looking at me. He had gone through this emotion and he knew exactly how I would feel. When we came into the room, I looked at Shoaib, I broke down into tears. He consoled me.

Despite all these emotional turmoils, Shoaib had been my strength, he handled the situation and even cheered me up. We made the vlog and shared the good news with you all. It was very important for me to heal and he made sure that I was happy and healing.

Obviously, your heart and mind are still stuck with your baby in the NICU but you have to keep going, you have to heal for your baby. Only if you are well, the baby will get good vibes and he will come soon to you. I thank Shoaib for constantly being there, he would come from his hectic schedules, and he made sure that I was in a good mood all the time. It is very important for a woman to have her husband's support and love during this journey.
