Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly died by suicide on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence. The actor did not leave behind any note and there are several assumptions about his death now. After the Mumbai Police, the case was taken over by Bihar police since Sushant's father filed a case against Rhea Chakraborty. However, with several angles coming into the forefront, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over this case. Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend of six years and his Pavitra Rishta co-star, Ankita Lokhande has stood like a rock by his family, post the actor's death. She is openly supporting his father, sister in this case and is doing everything possible that could help in delivering justice for Sushant. Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki actor Kamya Panjabi has also been quite vocal about this topic. She called out Rhea Chakraborty for leaking her chats with Sushant Singh Rajput where he called his sister, Priyanka "manipulative." Kamya said that siblings often fight and it's not a big deal.
