Nancy Guthrie disappearance: FBI releases suspect description, increases reward to USD 100,000

As the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, enters its third week, investigators have shared new details with the public. The FBI released a description of a suspect and increased the reward money in the matter. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward. Meanwhile, they have intensified scrutiny near Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home. The FBI described the suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance as approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build (add source). The doorbell camera footage showed the suspect wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. Investigators have raised the reward to USD 100,000 for “information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”The FBI also conducted an “extensive search” on Wednesday along several roadways in the Catalina Foothills area north of Tucson as part of the ongoing investigation, according to CNN and Fox News reports.Late Friday, more than a dozen law enforcement vehicles, including SWAT and forensic teams, were seen at a residence about two miles from Guthrie’s home. Roads were shut down and reopened roughly four hours later.At the same time, authorities investigated a gray or silver Range Rover in a Tucson restaurant parking lot. The vehicle was towed after being examined for several hours. Officers covered the license plate, removed items for photographs, and at one point held up a sheet to block the view into the trunk.The driver was detained for questioning and taken from the scene. It remains unclear whether that person is still in custody. At least three people were detained Friday evening, but no suspects have been publicly identified.Officials said DNA recovered at Guthrie’s property does not belong to her or those close to her (add source). Several gloves have also been collected during the investigation, with the furthest discovered about 10 miles from her home.As per a CNN report, a local law enforcement source said Friday that officials have not identified her location or confirmed the identity of her abductor.Meanwhile, TMZ founder Harvey Levin told Fox News that his organization received another letter from someone claiming to know who Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnapper is, with the emailer writing, “I am not being taken seriously.”
