Surya-Deepa’s chemistry makes Anurager Chhowa the most-watched daily soap on Bengali TV; a look at top 5 shows

The list of most-watched soap operas on Bengali television is out and the number one spot on the charts is dominated by none other than Dibyojyoti Dutta-Swastika Ghosh starrer ‘Anurager Chhowa’, followed by ‘Jagaddhatri’. When it comes to drawing room drama, daily soap ‘Anurager Chhowa’ is what Bengali viewers prefer to watch. Protagonist Surya (Dibyojyoti)-Deepa’s (Swastika) crackling chemistry, and Sona-Rupa’s cute appearance ( Mishita Roy Chowdhury as Sona and Sristi Majumdar as Rupa) worked in show’s favour making it the most-watched show on Bengali television. Besides this the makers don’t shy away from adding frequent twists and high dose of emotional drama to spice up the entertainment quotient. The current storyline is concentrating on Deepa and Surya’s relationship. One moment they bet everything for each other, and the very next moment, the couple fights. Bahu rani Jagaddhatri, who can solve petty household issues and solve tough criminal cases with equal ease, has managed to woo the audience this week too. While her skills helped her send the goons behind the bars, the high octane drama involved in the track, worked in show’s favour making it second most-watched daily soap. Jagaddhatri’s current track is revolving around a new case Jass and her team are trying to solve and Koushiki Mukherjee’s (played by Rupsa Chakraborty) wedding. Abhishek Bose-Divyani Mondal starrer ‘Phulki’ is in the third position on the list. Protagonist Phulki’s crisis in life managed to strike a connection with the audience. The show continues to score well in terms of TRP. Its latest track follows newlywed Rohit and Phulki’s struggle to start a new journey. This family-drama has also been airing episodes filled with high-octane drama. Right from Tarunjyoti’s struggle to make ends meet and his decision to work as a cobbler to Pakhi-Kush starting a new tea-stall; the show has featured back-to-back twists in the recent past.
