Here’s all you need to know about upcoming show Pilu starring Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Megha Daw

A number of new Bengali shows are about to launch. Interesting storyline, strong cast and beautiful shooting locations are some of the main attractions of these upcoming shows. One of the much-awaited show is ‘Pilu’. Gourab Roy Chowdhury will romance debutante Megha Daw on-screen. While the show is gearing up for its launch on January 10, team ‘Pilu’ is busy in shooting at some beautiful real-life locations across the Bengal. Here’s a quick look…

‘Pilu’ is likely to be a musical treat as Indian classical music and folk will be vastly used in the show. Actor Gourab, who will play the role of a singer in the show says, “The love story is weaved at the backdrop of music. We will use both classical and folk music. The musical treat will bright an earthly flavor. I am prepping up for my role. I am learning more about music and history of Indian classical music. Upali di is helping me a lot,” says Gourab.

The show has a strong cast that includes Anjana Basu, Biswanath Basu, Rudrajit Mukherjee, Idhika Paul among others. Idhika will essay a Sitarist while Biswanath will play the role of a talented Tabla player. The team behind the camera is working hard to make ‘Pilu’ a success. Story and screen play are done by Saswati Ghosh while Rajendra Prasad Das is directing the show. Upali Chattopadhyay is the music director.

The lead pair refreshing. While Gourab is a very popular face, this is Megha’s first daily soap. The finalist of ‘Dance Bangla Dance Season 11’, managed to bag the lead role in this show. In the first promo, Megha caught the attention of Bengali audience. Gourab and Megha looked good as a pair too. It will be interesting to see whether their chemistry works in favour of the show.

Adding a twist to the story, Aahir’s guru Aditya asks for ‘Guru Dakshina’ when he learns about Aahir and Pilu’s affair. He asks Aahir to marry his daughter Ranjini, a Sitarist. Idhika is playing Ranjini's role.

Along with a strong cast, the storyline has an interesting peg. Singer Aahir meets protagonist Pilu at her village. Pilu’s grandfather makes music instruments and music is in her genes. Pilu’s innocence, honesty and lively nature steal Aahir’s heart. Pilu too feels the same way for Aahir.

The makers used real life locations to shoot most of the sequences until now. From remote areas of Purulia to beautiful locations of Andul, the audience will see some breathtakingly beautiful locations.
